Laura Mae Piro Verdun, 72, of Fountain Hill passed away July 20, 2013 at her home. She was born October 5, 1940 to the late Philip Joseph Piro and Philippa Oliver Piro in New Orleans, LA.

She was a housewife and a member of Fountain Hill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Verdun, Sr. and a daughter, Ann McCraw.

Survivors include two sons, Jessie Verdun, Jr. of California and Joseph Paul Verdun of Fountain Hill; four daughters, Rose McCraw and Laura Prince, both of Fountain Hill, Jackie Torres of Hamburg and Darci Vargas of Mississippi; two sisters, seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
