Fran was born in a sod house built by her father and uncle in northwest South Dakota (Harding County) and spoke Swedish till she moved to MN at age 5. She grew up in St. Paul & White Bear Lake, MN where she married Jesse in 1938 and began a much-traveled life including Willernie, MN; Axtell, NE; Tucson, AZ; and Manteca, CA. She retired at age 85 and eventually settled in Monticello with her son Lynne and his family
She is survived by three sons, Lynne and his wife, Joyce of Monticello, Kirk of West Branch, IA and Robin of Woodbury, MN; one daughter, Jan of Kearney, NE; one brother, Earl and his wife, Betty of West St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren, Pat and wife, Dana; Keith and wife, Melanie and Jennifer; six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, JP, Skylar, Matthew, and Parker; and one great-great-grandchild, Jacob.
