I served in the armed forces.
James Victor Tiner, age 89 of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at his home in Little Rock. He was born on April 6, 1926 in Monticello, AR to the late Victor and Gussie May Cox Tiner. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roma Gene Tiner.

After his service in the United States Air Force, James earned a degree in Forestry from Arkansas A&M (now UAM). He worked as a Management Forester for the Arkansas Forestry Commission for over thirty years and was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.

James is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Mary Jane Funderburg Tiner of Little Rock; his son, James David Tiner of Colorado; his daughter, Barbara Tiner Hickman and husband, Dr. Guy Hickman of Little Rock; and his four grandchildren, Daniel Wood Hickman, Lauren Elizabeth Hickman, James Brett Hickman and Catherine Elise Hickman.

Funeral service will be held at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2015 with Rev. Frank LaBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
