He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army, a retired River Boat Captain and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife Joann May King of Monticello; four sons, Ralph King, Jr. of Star City, Ronnie King and wife Linda of Monticello, Paul King and wife Peggy of Star City and Terry King of Oregon; three daughters, Phyllis Cater of Dermott, Kathy Bradley and husband Glen of Dumas and Gail Cruz and husband Frank of Grady; one stepson, Scott Durham of Monticello; three step-daughters, Lisa Lloyd and husband Danny of Ladelle, Karen Clowers and husband Alvin of McGehee and Renee Harris and husband Bob of Monticello; one brother, Ray King of Monticello; and three sisters, Frances Hale of Brandon, MS, Joan Drake of San Antonio, TX and Paula Treadwell of Wichita, KS.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Jason Cater officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Sassafras Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
