I served in the armed forces.
Burl Irving Luper, 93, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Drew Memorial Hospital. He was born December 30, 1918 in Denton, TX.

He was a retired machinist, WW II U. S. Army Veteran and a member of Second Baptist Church in Monticello. He was the son of the late William Michael Luper and Bessie Lee Tysinger Luper and was preceded in death by one son, Steve Luper and two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Rogers Luper of Monticello; one son, Randy Luper and wife, Cindy of Monticello; daughter-in-law, Marie Luper of Copperas Cove, TX; five grandchildren, Bob Luper, Ryan Luper, Brittany Armstrong and husband, David, Kelsey Luper and Tim Luper; two great-grandchildren, Steven and David Luper.
